Our History

In the early days, clients were SMEs, fast growing, and start-up businesses in the high tech and IT sectors.

As the months & years rolled by FinTech, HealthTech, through to fund managers needing market research, as well as app and e-commerce entrants, contacted our Managing Director, Catrina Clulow, as word of her no-nonsense approach spread.

All were looking for Marketing that would Cut Through the noise to their customers. Cut Through the haze of how they should target the lucrative sweet spot. Hence Cut Through Marketing became their natural way forward as they launched or moved to the next level of their growth.

Our Founder

Catrina Clulow, Managing Director, started working in Marketing back in the 20th Century, so has a fair few years’ experience under her belt. Whilst in corporate life she worked in companies ranging from start-ups through to multi-national enterprises. When she decided to set up this business she was Marketing Director, EMEA, at PFU Fujitsu.

Coming from North Staffordshire, she has a no-nonsense way of looking at what marketing is required and why. After all, why spend £1000 when £100 will do? She will explain everything in a non-jargon way – you want the results not to be blinded by science.

Catrina is both a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer showing true commitment to her field.

An interesting fact about Catrina: Don’t tell her something is not possible, as that just means she finds a way to do it (and explains her MSc in Computing as she wasn’t allowed to do computing at school as it “was a subject for boys”).

Over twenty-five years experience in international marketing, controlling multi-million Euro budgets. Catrina specialises on delivering tangible results and has been a Chartered Institute of Marketing mentor since 2012. Catrina became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2014.
